Fresh Step Lightweight Extreme Cat Litter
A popular choice with consumers, Fresh Step Lightweight Extreme Cat Litter is a clumping cat litter formula that is made with natural clay. It is also infused with charcoal to absorb odors. The activated charcoal ingredient traps and then eliminates odor for 10 days.
This cat litter is designed to be up to 25% lighter than other Fresh Step litters, making it easier to carry and pour.
To illustrate, a 15.4-pound bag is equivalent to a 22-pound bag. If you want to get the most bang for your buck, you generally buy the biggest cat litter bag available. However, this usually means that it will be rather hefty! This lighter version will lighten the load- literally.
The Fresh Step Lightweight Extreme Cat Litter features a scent of Febreze that is activated by paw action. This means that the box and your home will smell fresh thanks to Febreze, and the scent of the Febreze will be activated by your cat’s tiny paws.
As previously mentioned, while this formula is noticeably lighter than clay, it is still a bit heavier than you would expect if you have used some other lightweight brand litters.
For example, I was surprised by the light weight of Purina Tidy Cat’s lightweight litter. It made me want to toss the full box around the room like a balloon.
If you are all about lightweight, try that litter instead.
However, this specific Fresh Step formulation clumps well- the clumps it forms are tight and solid -and absorbs well. Liquids and odors are absorbed quickly.
On the flip side, there is a distinct scent when using the litter. If your cat is bothered by smells, this may not be the best solution for you. The same goes if you are.
